Creamy Lotus Seeds Recipe- Ingredients

  • Lotus seeds – 2 cups
  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Onion medium(chopped) – 1
  • Vegetable oil – 3 tsp
  • Garlic(smashed) – 5 Cloves
  • Ginger paste – 2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Garam Masala – 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder – 1/2 – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
  • Tomato – 1 cup
  • Dried Fenugreek leaves(Unakkiya uluva ila) – 1/4 cup
  • Cashews – 1/3 cup
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) – 1/4 cup
  • Salt

Creamy Lotus Seeds Recipe – Preparation

  • Take a non-stick skillet and heat 1 tsp of oil , add the lotus seed to it and  stir until a golden brown colour and turn into crisp then it set aside
  • Make a paste with the cashews and one cup of water
  • Saute onions over medium heat for about 5 minutes add ginger and garlic to this
  • Then add powder spices and tomato puree mix this thoroughly
  • Cook until the tomatoes darken.
  • Add the lotus seeds  the frozen green peas and the dried fenugreek leaves.
  • Add a cup of water to this and stir well
  • After some time when the mixture came to boil, add the cashew paste and salt to taste
  • Few drops of lemon juice can also be added
