Ingredients needed

  1. Ripe Jack fruit -Pulp or small pieces
  2. Jaggery – Liquid or Cakes
  3. Rice flour/Powder
  4. Coconut grated or pieces
  5. Salt as per taste
  6. sugar can used as per taste
  7. Cardamom -powdered or crushed
  8. Vazhana Ila/Edana Ila/Bay leaves or Banana Leaves/Vazha ila-based on how much you prepare
  9. Water

Preparation of Kumbilappam

  • Take big bowl add Jack fruit pulp/paste/chakkavazhtiyathu/paste,jaggery syrup,coconut grated or pieces,Cardamom.Mix wll with your hands
  • Add Rice flour little by little make smooth dough not be too loose and too thick
  • Take the leaf and makes cones with it and fill the dough inside
  • Top of the laves bend and press inside to cover the top
  • Steam it aorund 45 minutes

** To check it is ready or not ,open one and pick a toothpick into it,it comes out clean your Kumbilappam – Chakka Kumbulappam – Edannayappam is ready to serve and enjoy our traditinal taste
