Pineapple peel wine is a simple recipe prepared using the peels of a pineapple. It has a light golden texture and a delicious sweet flavour. The number of days required for the preparation of pineapple peel wine is less compared to the time taken for a grape wine preparation. Unlike other wine varieties, this recipe cannot be stored for many days. It should be used soon after the preparation. Sugar is used for an extra sweet taste. The use of cinnamon and cloves would give away a unique aroma and flavour. Ingredients used for the preparation of pineapple peel wine
- Pineapple peels from one large-sized pineapple
- 3 cup of water
- 2½ to 3 cups of sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon of active dry yeast
- 2-4 cloves
- 1 cinnamon piece
- 1 lightly beaten egg white

Method of preparation of pineapple peel wine
- Wash the pineapple in clean water. Use a sharp knife in slicing off its peels and keep it aside.
- Boil 3 cups of water in a pan and keep it aside for cooling.
- Now, add the sugar, yeast, cinnamon, cloves and pineapple peels.
- Transfer it to glass or porcelain jar. Cover the lid of the vessel and tie it with a string.
- Keep the jar in dark place. On the 5th day open the lid and add the egg white. Stir the contents and close it again for 3-5 days.
- Open the jar on the 10th day and decant the wine without any disturbance. Pour the contents over a muslin cloth. Do not squeeze the ingredients as it would affect the taste of the wine.
- Pour the recipe into clean and dry bottles. The wine will have a certain cloudy texture.
- Keep it undisturbed for another 3 weeks before tasting the wine recipe.
- After 21 days, the wine would be cleared off the cloudiness.
- Pour it to serving glass and serve this delicious pineapple peel wine.
