Strawberry Ice cream
Ice cream recipes – Rose petals add a delicate floral not to their regular strawberry ice cream
Ingredients
- Fresh strawberries (quartered) – 250gm
- Caster sugar – 1 tbsp
- Thick Yoghurt – 550gm
- Honey – 1/2 cup
- Fresh fragrant red or pink rose petals – 1 cup
- Rose water – 3 tbsp
Method
- Sprinkle the caster sugar over the quartered strawberries and set aside for about 30 minutes,after which puree 200g of the strawberries . Pass the pureed mixture through a sieve to remove the seeds
- Take a thick yoghurt,strawberry puree,honey and rosewater and mix them well until thick and smooth
- Place it in a freezer proof container and stir well every 30 minutes to avoid the formation of any large ice crystals
- Repeat this until the ice cream is smooth and thick
- Chop the remaining strawberries into small pieces
- Wash the rose petals and pat dry
- Tear into pieces
- Fold the strawberries and rose petals into the ice cream and transfer to a freezer container
- Cover and freeze until required
- It is best set when you leave it overnight
