Quick and Delicious Basundi Recipe – An Indian Dessert
An easy sweet made rich with nuts and milk, the basundi is a diwali preparation. Feel its ever-so-smooth texture melting in your mouth!Basundi is a dessert commonly made in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka. It is similar to rabdi.
Ingredients
- Condensed milk – 1 cup
- Full Fat milk – 5 cups
- Cardamom Powdered – 5 Nos
- Cashew nuts chopped -12 Nos
- Pistachios chopped – 15 Nos
- Almonds chopped – 12 Nos
- Saffron – 8 Strands
Preparation
Mix together the milk and condensed milk in a saucepan and then keep to boil
Keep stirring to avoid it getting burnt
Keep on a low flame till it thickens
Remove the milk from the sides of the pan and bring it to the centre
Keep stirring for around 25-30 minutes till it is really thick
Add the dry fruits along with saffron and cardamom, mix well, keep for a minute or two and then remove from flame
Garnish with saffron strands and serve hot or chilled
