How to make vegetable fried rice at home?
All of us would have tasted vegetable fried rice from hotels, but can we make this recipe in our home?
Here is an easy vegetable fried rice recipe which can be prepared with few readily available ingredients. All of us would have tasted vegetable fried rice from hotels, the advantage of preparing this recipe at home is that we can prepare it to suit our likings, we can adjust the ingredients to our taste. As in the case of other fried rice recipes, a small quantity of Soya sauce is used for the taste. This simple and tasty fried rice recipe goes well with salad and pickle. Black pepper powder is used for a spicy flavour. Beans, carrot, cabbage, spring onion and capsicum are the typically used vegetables for this recipe. Olive oil or any other refined cooking oil can be used in this preparation. The use of vinegar and ginger-garlic paste adds up the taste. Ingredients used for making fried rice
- 1 cup of Basmati rice
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped Beans
- 1 cup of shredded Cabbage
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped Carrot
- 1/4 cup of finely chopped Capsicum
- 1 teaspoon of Oil for cooking
- 2½ tablespoon of finely chopped green portion of a spring onion
- 2½ tablespoon of any refined oil or Olive oil
- 1½ tablespoon of sliced garlic
- 1-inch ginger piece (finely chopped pieces)
Ingredients for Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of vinegar
- 2-3 teaspoon of Soya sauce
- Pepper powder as per your liking
- Salt for the taste
Method of preparation of vegetable fried rice
- Wash the rice in clean water and soak it for 15 minutes.
- Pressure cook the rice with 1½ cups of water and a teaspoon of oil.
- Once the rice is cooked, drain off the water, fluff it with a fork and transfer it to a plate. Let it cool for some time.
- The rice grains should not be overcooked.
- Meanwhile, finely chop the vegetables like carrot, beans, capsicum and spring onion greens.
- Finely slice and chop the garlic pieces and the ginger piece. Keep it aside.
- Heat some oil in pan. When the oil is hot, add garlic and ginger pieces. Saute it for few seconds.
- Now, add the finely chopped beans pieces and saute it for few seconds.
- Add the other vegetables like carrot, cabbage, capsicum and spring onion greens in a sequential manner. Vegetables should be sauteed in a high-medium flame. Also, stir the contents regularly so that it does not get over fried.
- Do not overcook the vegetables as they should remain crunchy.
- Add the cooked rice, soya sauce, vinegar and the pepper powder.
- Sprinkle some salt for the taste and mix it thoroughly. Check for the salt and the spicy taste. Add the salt and the pepper powder as per your liking.
- Vegetable fried rice is ready and serve it hot with salad and pickle.
