Chakka Kumbilappam-Edannayappam-Kumbilappam-Traditional Taste of Kerala-Jack Fruit
Ingredients needed
- Ripe Jack fruit -Pulp or small pieces
- Jaggery – Liquid or Cakes
- Rice flour/Powder
- Coconut grated or pieces
- Salt as per taste
- sugar can used as per taste
- Cardamom -powdered or crushed
- Vazhana Ila/Edana Ila/Bay leaves or Banana Leaves/Vazha ila-based on how much you prepare
- Water
Preparation of Kumbilappam
- Take big bowl add Jack fruit pulp/paste/chakkavazhtiyathu/paste,jaggery syrup,coconut grated or pieces,Cardamom.Mix wll with your hands
- Add Rice flour little by little make smooth dough not be too loose and too thick
- Take the leaf and makes cones with it and fill the dough inside
- Top of the laves bend and press inside to cover the top
- Steam it aorund 45 minutes
** To check it is ready or not ,open one and pick a toothpick into it,it comes out clean your Kumbilappam – Chakka Kumbulappam – Edannayappam is ready to serve and enjoy our traditinal taste
