You need
- Sugar – 4 cups
- Water – 1 cup
- Cashew powder – 4 cups
- Clarified butter – 1 tbsp
- Silver varq – 68 leaves
Method
- Mix sugar and water in a heavy pan and heat over low flame,stirring constantly till sugar dissolves. Cook the mixture,stirring constantly till syrup comes to a boil and thickens
- Gradually whisk in cashew powder and continue cooking over low flame,stirring constantly till mixture comes together
- Grease a large plate/ thali and the outer base of large katori with clarified butter
- Transfer the cashew mixture to the greased plate and using the katori,spread the mixture evenly and smoothen the surface
- Apply the silver varq and allow the mixture to cool completely. Cut into diamond (or any other desired shape) and serve
