Ingredients
- For the mince mix soaked fruits – 200gm
- Apples – 200 gm
- Brown Sugar – 40gm
- Orange marmalade – 80gm
- Cinnamon powder – 4 gm
- Star anise – 1 gm
- Spice mix – 3 gm
- Butter – 40gm
- Brandy – 30ml
For short crust
- Icing sugar – 100 gm
- Unsalted butter – 200gm
- Refined colour – 300 gm
- Egg -2
- Vanilla extract – 2ml
Method
- Melt butter in a pan and add the mined fruits
- Then add finely chopped apples,brown sugar and orange marmalade
- Simmer gently,stirring occasionally for about 10 minutes
- Add all the spice powders
- Allow the mix to cool completely
- Add some brandy into it. Seal tightly and can keep in the refrigerator
For the short crust cream,butter and icing sugar together.
- Add egg one at a time
- Cream till the mix gets soft peak consistency
- Now add vanilla into it, fold in the flour and keep in refrigerator for an hour
- Roll the short crust and line the small tart shells
- Spoon the minced fruit mix into the lined tart shells
- Cut the stars of short crust and place on top of filled shells
- Apply some egg wash on top
- Bake at 160 degrees for 20-25 minutes
- Cool de-mould and sprinkle icing sugar on top
